ESPN launched a new streaming service with an updated purchase and viewing model, and the changes led to a drop in customer satisfaction. The network wanted to understand the issues beyond just a typical 5-star rating system, and gain a deep understanding into fan’s emotions, how contact center agents were handling challenges, and then adjust staffing to better connect with customers.
OneMagnify leveraged Domo, an AI-powered data experience platform, to create a unified voice of the customer (VoC) application for ESPN that tracked customer sentiment before, during, and after major viewing events. This information, combined with the client’s own call center data, helped ESPN better understand how its customers were feeling, where their team could make improvements, as well as how to best train new contact center members to connect with customers on an emotional level.
ESPN identified performance issues and put fixes into place, including training on how to handle challenging conversations, staffing the appropriate amount of contact center staff, and ensuring customers felt an emotional connection to the support team.

The client wanted a solution to predict staffing needs so team members weren’t on the clock and underutilized, but also so that stores weren’t understaffed and losing out on potential sales.
OneMagnify used Domo, an AI-powered data experience platform, to create a custom labor optimization platform that managed staff schedules across more than 100 locations. This included factoring in weather, demographic demand, and promotional calendars to predict in-store traffic and ensure sufficient staff coverage.
The OneMagnify and Domo labor optimization platform helped the high-volume tire chain make their stores more efficient to better serve customers, without sacrificing sales. The results were reduced labor costs and an improved bottom line.
